Harmonic excitation approach to determine system identification of a mannequin

The objective of this experiment is to determine the stiffness coefficient of the human lumbar region. More specifically, we studied the L2 thoracic and L4 lumbar vertebrae of the human body in hopes to identify beneficial information that can help innovate a safer environment for people in the industry. To study the stiffness of a given area, we used an anatomically correct mannequin named Pat which was placed on a shaker table and shaken at a known frequency. From this we can gather data from the accelerometers, the accelerometers are placed at the desired points of interest and we computed the resonance and frequency values which are used to calculate the stiffness coefficient of each vertebra.
